American Express is a Fortune 500 Company that has roots dating back to 1850. American Express offers two types of gift cards, business gift cards and regular personal gift cards. These are not credit card but are prepaid cards loaded with prepaid money. The balance can usually be found on the front of the gift card or on the receipt. After you have received your gift card, you might need to call American Express to activate your card. When you call in, a Customer Care Professional will ask for the CID which is printed on the front of your Gift Card or Business Gift Card. They will also need some other personal information such as your home phone number, date of birth and zip code.
