Capital One has expanded it security by using chip technology with their cards. Chip technology is a microchip integrated in their cards that encrypts customer information. This feature is only active when used at a chip-enables register. Most Capital One cards are being issued with this new feature to new and current cardholders. Current cardholders can login in to find the chip card image on their account summary page to see if their card is eligible for this chip. If they are, all they need to do is click on the link provided to order a replacement card. Capital had Chip PIN cards which required a PIN to be entered in at checkout but now all card issued will be Chip Signature card which only require a signature.
